“Keyano” is Cree for friendship and togetherness.

What is so important about this name well it is one of the historical facts for the River Valley’s Edmonton Commonwealth Walkway and Canoes are still being seen on the river today 100’s of years   later.

The name was eventually accepted as “Ceyana” and since 1978 when Edmonton was host for the Commonwealth Games it’s been a Commonwealth legacy for the Ceyana Canoe Club.
